How are you approaching the coming year?
As for me, I will carve out time this week to rest, recharge and begin to integrate some small changes that lead to achieving some lofty yet achievable goals I’ve set for myself:
I will take steps to grow my business; surround myself with smart innovative people and resources; prioritize my own personal health regimen; encourage food education on a policy level; and nurture my household.
But as I wrote in 2015, resolutions stink!
According to the University of Scranton, Journal of Clinical Psychology, 45% of Americans make New Year's resolutions, and only 8% are successful. That means 92% of those resolutions result in failure!
That’s why I don’t call them resolutions, but instead view the aforementioned goals as guidelines for an improved me.
You’re much more likely to see tangible results and get your butt in gear by starting with baby steps, instead of big sweeping changes. I plan to follow my own advice and take small steps to put me on the path.
What is one small change you will start making today to become your best, most healthful and happy self?
Whether it is adding a glass of lemon water to your morning routine, taking the stairs instead of an elevator, updating your LinkedIn, committing to monthly gatherings with someone who lifts you up or (fill in the blank), I applaud you!
